Sparta Prague v Bournemouth

Perfect Cherries take the six-game streak to Prague

Marco Rose's Bournemouth are third in the Europa League with nine points from three and have won six in a row without conceding — Sparta sit 16th on four.

It's a good team. They like to have possession and play football but on the other side they are very man-orientated in pressing. We have to find solutions but we are focused on our game. If we do it in the right way we have the chance to win the game.Marco Rose on Sparta Prague BBC Sport

Bournemouth's debut European season could hardly have started better. Wins over Real Sociedad, Sturm Graz and AC Milan leave the Cherries third in the 36-team league phase, kept off top spot only on goal difference. Domestically they have followed that with Premier League wins over Manchester United and Leeds and a League Cup thrashing of Aston Villa: six successive victories, 16 goals scored and none conceded.

Sparta Prague sit 16th with four points — a 4-1 win at Ararat-Armenia, a 1-1 home draw with Lillestrøm and a 1-0 loss at Olympiacos. Brian Priske's side have failed to score in four of their last five in all competitions and were held 0-0 by Bohemians last Sunday after a Czech Cup exit to Baník Ostrava.

Rose respects the hosts. "It's a good team. They like to have possession and play football but on the other side they are very man-orientated in pressing. We have to find solutions but we are focused on our game. If we do it in the right way we have the chance to win the game." He also noted Sparta's tall striker and one-v-one wingers from their 4-3-3.

Team news is mostly settled. Alex Scott is close but not ready; Julián Araujo remains out; Alex Tóth had surgery on his hamstring yesterday and will miss several months. Junior Kroupi is not yet back in the European squad — Rose said he will be available after this match. Sparta are without Matej Ryneš, Adam Karabec, Magnus Kofod Andersen and Emmanuel Uchenna; John Mercado (calf) will be assessed.

On clean sheets Rose played down the record talk: "I am happy we won the games, that is the most important thing. If we win the game 2-1 I am happy with this as well." Travelling fans were told Prague is "a really beautiful town" — and that the team "want to present them a win tomorrow."

Thun v Hearts

Injury-hit Hearts seek a first Conference win in Switzerland

Wouter Vrancken has travelled with only 19 players after Calvin Miller's knee surgery and Tomas Magnusson's concussion — both sides are still searching for a first Conference League victory.

It's a puzzle. I'm always happy to see that the players we work with and play out of position, or talk with, are always directly motivated to do it. They know how much they help the team by doing it. It's good to see because they take responsibility and don't live by excuses.Wouter Vrancken on Hearts' injury crisis BBC Sport

Hearts drew 1-1 with Nordsjælland then lost 2-0 at Trabzonspor and sit 29th in the Conference League table. Thun are 32nd with no points after 1-0 home defeats to Twente and Hajduk Split, and have yet to score in the league phase.

The Jambos' squad crisis deepened at Hampden on Sunday. Calvin Miller requires surgery on the knee injury that ended his League Cup semi-final against Hibernian and will be out for two months. Tomas Magnusson is sidelined until after the international break with concussion. Vrancken has called up 19-year-olds Matthew Gillies and Gus Stevenson from co-operation loans at Stenhousemuir to pad a party of 19 that includes three goalkeepers.

"It's a puzzle," Vrancken said of selection, with players asked to fill unfamiliar positions. "They know how much they help the team by doing it. It's good to see because they take responsibility and don't live by excuses." Already out are Oisin McEntee, Christian Borchgrevink, Harry Milne, Ageu, Blair Spittal, Tom Renaud, Craig Halkett and Rogers Mato among others.

Thun, the reigning Swiss champions but ninth in the Super League, ended a five-game winless run by coming from 4-1 down to beat Lausanne-Sport 5-4 on Sunday. Vrancken warned they bring "a lot of energy, a lot of intensity" and "direct play". The hosts are without Louis Passavant, Genís Montolio, Fabio Saiz, Mats Seiler and Marc Gutbub.

"This is what you play for," Vrancken said. "It's just a pity that you cannot go full force with everybody fit in these games. Now we have to go again from the start with full belief that we can get a result, no matter who is playing or who is playing in which position."
