Andréas Hountondji opened the scoring on 15 minutes from Lucas Pires' pass, and Marcus Edwards made it two on 25, set up by Jaydon Banel. ASHTON GATE ROUT

CANARIES RUN RIOT IN BRISTOL

Bristol City 0, Norwich 5. Norwich: Paris Maghoma 22, Harry Darling 53, Andre Brooks 56, J. Makama 70, Mathias Kvistgaarden 80 pen. Norwich hit five as City's wait for a home win goes on

Norwich made it four Championship wins in a row in style, thrashing Bristol City 5-0 at Ashton Gate in the lunchtime kick-off.

Paris Maghoma put the Canaries ahead after 22 minutes, and the second half was one-way traffic. Harry Darling and Andre Brooks struck within three minutes to make it 3-0, substitute Jovon Makama tapped in a fourth from a ball across the face of goal, and Mathias Kvistgaarden sent a penalty down the middle after Lisav Naif Eissat pulled his man down.

Many home fans had left before the end. Michael Skubala's side, beaten by Wolves on Wednesday, still await a first home win since September going into the international break.

“For me, that's probably the most difficult afternoon I've ever had in my career. I've never had a second half like that, to be honest. It doesn't really matter what I say sometimes in these situations. Apologies to the fans, apologies to the supporters. You know, it's not good enough. The performance level in the second half is not good enough.” – Michael Skubala, Bristol City manager, speaking to BBC Radio Bristol, via BBC Sport

“I think until now, yes, that was the most complete performance of the season. Also comparing the opponents and they are a really hard team to break open. We did well in the first half and although we didn't create super, big chances, we scored an important goal and we tired them.” – Philippe Clement, Norwich City manager, speaking to BBC Radio Norfolk, via BBC Sport

Where it leaves them: Bristol City 17th on 18 points; Norwich 12th on 21 points. Norwich have now scored nine without reply in two away games this week.

CHAMPIONSHIP · PRIDE PARK

RAMS FIGHT BACK TO EASE THE HEAT

Derby 3, Bolton 1. Derby: Ryan Nyambe 46, Jack Robinson 49, Rhian Brewster 90+4; Bolton: Ruben Rodrigues 42. Nyambe's first career goal sparks a turnaround before Brewster settles it late

Derby County came from behind to beat Bolton Wanderers 3-1 at Pride Park and ease the pressure on manager John Eustace.

Rúben Rodrigues slotted Bolton ahead on 42 minutes from Gaizka Larrazabal's pull-back. Straight after the break Ryan Nyambe equalised — his first goal in more than 300 career appearances — and Jack Robinson put the Rams in front on 49. Rhian Brewster made it 3-1 in stoppage time, winning the ball high up and finishing into the top corner.

It is Derby's first home win of the season and only their second in the Championship, in front of 27,536.

“We changed the shape at half-time, and the response from the lads was outstanding. The chips were down, we're not going great in the league, and the character of the group showed. It's really important that we don't get carried away with this win, but we need to enjoy it.” – John Eustace, Derby manager, via Sky Sports

“We just didn't concentrate for a five-minute period after half-time. We were comfortable for the first 45 minutes, but we've got to kill teams off when we're on top. We've given the game away with a little bit of naivety again.” – Steven Schumacher, Bolton manager, via Sky Sports

Where it leaves them: Derby 23rd on 10 points; Bolton 18th on 17 points. Derby's first home win of the season — and only their second in the Championship.

CHAMPIONSHIP · THE HAWTHORNS

PRICE, MOLUMBY AND MYHRE ROUT THE LIONS

West Brom 3, Millwall 0. West Brom: Isaac Price 50, Jayson Molumby 78, Felix Horn Myhre 89. Blank first half gives way to a ruthless second as Albion climb into the top five

West Bromwich Albion beat Millwall 3-0 at The Hawthorns, scoring three times after a blank first half to climb into the Championship's top five.

Isaac Price opened the scoring on 50 minutes, driving a right-foot shot from outside the box into the bottom right after Jayson Molumby's assist. Molumby made it two on 78 from very close range, and substitute Felix Myhre sealed it on 89, finishing Isaac Price's fast-break pass into the bottom right.

“It was a bit cagey in the first half and we just lacked composure in the final third. At the break we regrouped and changed shape for the second half with the subs coming on, and in the end it was a collective effort from everyone today.” – James Morrison, West Bromwich Albion head coach, speaking to BBC Radio WM, via BBC Sport

“I'm really frustrated because I didn't think West Brom had a lot of clear-cut chances in the game, certainly prior to the second goal. We had a great opportunity with Josh Coburn but we just didn't sort our feet out to get it on target.” – Alex Neil, Millwall head coach, speaking to BBC Radio London, via BBC Sport

Where it leaves them: West Brom 5th on 28 points; Millwall 16th on 18 points. West Brom move into the top five on 28 points; Millwall drop to mid-table after a second heavy defeat in four days.

ST ANDREW'S

STANSFIELD DOUBLE SENDS BLUES TOP

Birmingham 2, Swansea 1. Birmingham: Jay Stansfield 29, 87; Swansea: Christoph·Klarer 65 og. Late winner against 10-man Swansea lifts Birmingham above Middlesbrough and Stoke

Birmingham City went top of the Championship as Jay Stansfield's late winner beat 10-man Swansea City 2-1 at a sold-out St Andrew's.

Ryan Allsop saved Ross Stewart's early penalty before Marko Stamenić was sent off on 26 minutes for a heavy challenge on Ethan Laird. Stansfield swept in Max Bird's cut-back three minutes later for his 50th Blues goal.

Swansea levelled on 65 minutes when Christoph Klarer turned Josh Tymon's corner into his own net. Stansfield drilled home three minutes from time after Demarai Gray's corner, with Phil Neumann hitting the bar in the scramble.

“At the start of the game, we weren't sharp enough, and they got a penalty, but we got going after that. It was a poor decision for the penalty; I was very disappointed. Alex [Cochrane] has done nothing, and the lad throws himself to the floor.” – Chris Davies, Birmingham City manager, speaking to BBC Radio WM, via BBC Sport

“We started really well with chances, control and the right character, but after the red card it's a completely different game. What I've seen from my players - the effort, character, personality, the willingness to fight for the game is something that should make us proud.” – Vitor Matos, Swansea City head coach, speaking to BBC Radio Wales, via BBC Sport

Blues have seven wins in nine and sit on 29 points. Swansea have lost four of their last five and slip to sixth.

Where it leaves them: Birmingham 1st on 29 points; Swansea 6th on 26 points. Birmingham lead the Championship on 29 points; Swansea drop to sixth on 26.
